Wildfires can destroy homes, businesses, infrastructure, and natural resources. They can also exacerbate secondary hazards and leave areas prone to floods, erosion, and mudflows for many years. The key purpose of this grant program is to enact mitigation measures that reduce the risk of loss of life and property from future disasters.
The Hazardous Materials Emergency Preparedness (HMEP) Grant Program provides financial and technical assistance as well as national direction and guidance to enhance State, Tribal, and local hazardous materials emergency planning and training.
The OPSG Program supports enhanced cooperation and coordination among Customs and Border Protection (CBP), United States Border Patrol (USBP), and local, Tribal, territorial, state, and Federal law enforcement agencies.
The PDM Program is designed to assist states, tribal nations, and local communities in implementing a sustained pre-disaster natural hazard mitigation program.
