Flooding is the most common natural disaster in the United States and can happen anywhere.  Floods are particularly dangerous because they can wash away roads and bridges and cause extensive damage to property.  Here are a few tips and links to information to better prepare for a flood.

  • Know your flood risk
  • Take pictures/document your property prior to a flood
  • Secure important documents in a waterproof container
  • Stay Informed - sign up for your community’s warning system
  • Obtain Flood Insurance
  • Create, replenish, or confirm your disaster kit
