Governor Steve Bullock has made a Drought Disaster Declaration for Montana since it is in the midst of a severe and expanding drought. Drought can affect wildfire, agriculture production, tourism, wildlife and many other areas important to Montana. The Governor’s Drought and Water Supply Advisory Committee has put the Drought Reporter that collects current and local drought impacts. The drought reporter will ask for the type of impact (tourism, agriculture etc.) and your knowledge of rainfall and soil moisture in your area. The information gathered is used to investigate trends and impacts and will help inform potential responses. You can access the Drought Reporter and current results through the Montana State Library Drought page.
