Montana Wildfires

Montana Wildfires

Montana is currently experiencing an active wildfire season. Lack of rain, wind, low relative humidity have frequently elevated fire danger levels to “high” and “extreme” across much of the state. Governor Steve Bullock has declared disasters for both wildfires and drought.

MONTANA DEPARTEMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES AND CONSERVATION (DNRC)
DNRC is the lead agency for wildfire fire suppression as outlined in the State’s emergency response plan.  Their website contains valuable information including the DNRC fire map, fire conditions and weather updates, current fire restrictions by county, and other valuable resources.  Please feel free to visit the DNRC website and other valulable links such as the
http://mt.gov/fire.aspx and the DNRC Interactive Wildland Fire Map
