Whether because of ice jams, snow melt or prolonged rain, Montana’s potential for flooding is a big concern for the coming months. However, as with most hazards, there are actions you can take to prepare for and recovery from a flood.
Good information on preparing for a flood can be found from FEMA, the American Red Cross, the Department of Homeland Security and the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). REMEMBER - it usually takes 30 days for Flood Insurance to go into effect!
