MT DES is responsible to the Governor to carry out the planning and programs for disaster and emergency services.

Exercises are used to validate training and emergency preparedness plans, as well as increase response capability and competence in all emergency functions.

MT DES, FEMA, and DHS provide information and assistance for planning.

In a continuous effort to effectively mitigate emergencies and be better prepared, Montana Disaster and Emergency Services provides and coordinates emergency preparedness and response training throughout the state.
